HOT for HUTTON

Lauren Hutton...one of the original Supermodels continues to inspire fasionistas, models and photographers alike.  Beyond that her ballsy unapologetic attitude and untouchable confidence are encouraging to young women no matter where the beaten path has lead you.

Just a couple of my FAVES from Lauren.  She's a killer, always delivers.

 <----- delish.
                                                         love it.

Rain, Rain...Go Away!

They say "April showers bring May flowers." Well, while we're all waiting for May we should probably be dressing suitably. Running around LA in this sporadic rain has got me thinking about cute rain gear.

I say if you're going to go out and brave the rain might as well look great. Bonus, when you get wherever you're going you're not drenched due to inappropriate wardrobe!

I have always loved galoshes...wellies? Rain boots! So cute! They range in price point, for the purposes of LA I think it's a little ridiculous to spend
any real amount of money on them, but I do love these Hunter Rain boots, sold at Saks Fifth Ave among other places. Cool detail about these boots, the fleece sock is removable. Love a versatile boot. Saks also sells Snake-embossed boot by Hunter that I love, available here!

Slightly pricier option are the Burberry Rain boots, Zappos.Com has them for $225 if you're looking to drop a little dough on the galoshes. I don't know if I would, but I must say the Burberry Plaid once again succeeds. Looks great even in a Rubber Boot!

Some other cute boots....

Beyond the cutie booties there's always jackets and umbrellas to remember!
Here are some faves of mine!

Of course, the go-to for an amazing trenchcoat, Burberry always kills it...

A Burberry Trench Coat is Timeless, well made and an excellent investment. Don't let the pricetag scare you off. If you're going to drop big bucks on a clothing item, this isn't a bad one!

If we have to deal with rain in LA....even if it is sporadic...then we might as well look great doing it. There's not a lot worse than going out in the rain, having your outfit ruined, hair flattened, shoes wrecked, ICK! And with all these fabulous finds, why not be fashionable and dry??

But let's be serious, enough with these showers, I'm fully ready for the flowers and fun!
Love you babies!

LA Fashionistas!

I Know You're Out There!!!

Going through back issues of all my magazines, doing a little project to get myself organized. Slash, excuse for re-reading all my fashion mags. Anyway, currently at March issue of Elle. First of all, Keira Knightley's outfit on the cover is pretty much killer. Obviously was quite excited to comb through this one again, as it is filled with fashion gems.

Anyway, I'm stalled in my browsing. There's a really great article in this issue about young trendsetters, 11 are highlighted. But only 2 are from LA. The two they chose (Aska & Alexi Wasser) are definitely above the line and versatile so that's the good news...but there were 4 from NY...just sayin. I think there's a lot of untapped fashionista goodness over here in LA.

It could be the relentless wearing of uggs and juicy suits outside of the house. Or the refusal to let go of crocs as acceptable footwear outside of the garden. Also let's not forget the Ed Hardy/Affliciton loyalty that haunts the streets of Los Angeles that is likely keeping us off the pages of Elle. But I'm here to stand up for LA. We do have style. Yes, sometimes it's a bit misguided. But there are some amazingly well dressed people out there too. I would know, a lot of them are my friends. :)

Anyway, pick up an Elle magazine...they have SO much great fashion inspiration. If you never do, maybe pick up a Glamour too just to be sure you're not on the back page in the "Don't" column. ;)
Just Kidding.
Kind of.

Love you beauties.

16 & Amazing. ELEANOR HARDWICK.

Inspiration comes in all shapes and sizes. Photography is one source that I tend to draw from regularly, as it so often meets with fashion beautifully.

I really love Trend Land and their daily newsletter because they're always sending me little bits of inspiration every day. And this time I got a photographer in my inbox that I just HAVE to share with you all.

She's only 16 and to call her a prodigy is, in my opinion, putting it lightly. Eleanor Hardwick (or Lenaah as she's known amongst her many followers on Flickr) has a way with the camera that makes me want to crawl into her daydreamy escapes....

Here's just a few more of my faves. Not only are they so inspirational because they're coming from such a young woman but the combination of art, fashion and photography are simply above the line! LOVE!

Check out her website for more pics and her bio!

All right beauties, get moving. We let her accomplishments serve as motivation! :)
Love you babes.

Seeing RED!

Looking at this season through ROSE colored glasses! Punch up this seasons nude, denim and clean lines with a hint of RED RED RED! It's everywhere and just dying to be injected into this season (maybe even with a daring one piece a-la eres) and not be packed away with Christmas, like it sometimes is....

I'm super loving how many designers showed their Spring/Summer 2010 collections with a crimson hued lip. (Bottega Veneta, Dior, D&G to name a few!) If you have the patience and know-how to pick out just the right color and apply/maintain properly I say go for it!

Here are some of my favorite finds (some, btw, can be found in other hues for those who blush at the idea of braving the bold brights)!
Christian Louboutin Ruby Slippers
H&M Garden Collection Rosey Coat

Some slightly more subtle options...
Vita Fede Como Cones Wrap Belt
Rachel Roy Infinity Loop Scarf (Only $38!)

And finally...the go-to spot for feeling sexy in a snap, Agent Provocatuer!

Ok...so it's a bold look but if you want some sexy red lingerie, these are your people! ;)

There are SO many amazing colorful ways to update your wardrobe I couldn't possibly include them all, these are just a few of my favorite finds. I also highly recommend checking out the new bag that Milla Jovovich designed for Tommy Hilfiger. It's a cool oversized red leather tote and the proceeds go to benefiting breast cancer research! Being healthy is OBVIOUSLY always in fashion!

Love ya babies! Go be bold and fabulous. As usual.
